Chapter 3 – Hiring
The names and addresses, including city and street, of its faculty, together with a record of the educational qualifications of each; and Acknowledgement that the school is in compliance with Education Code § 44237 to the extent that it applies, which requires that schools conduct fingerprint background checks on applicants for positions requiring contact with minors and prohibits schools from employing individuals convicted of certain crimes. 74
G. S TATEMENT OF I NFORMATION California requires that all non-profit corporations complete and file a Statement of Information, which is a form prescribed by the Secretary of State (also referred to as Form SI-100) and available through the Secretary of State’s website ( http://bpd.cdn.sos.ca.gov/corp/pdf/so/corp_so100.pdf ). The Statement of Information must be filed within 90 days after the filing of the original Articles of Incorporation and biennially thereafter. 75 It requires that corporations provide the following information:
The name of the corporation and the Secretary of State’s file number; The names and complete business or residence addresses of its chief executive officer, secretary, and chief financial officer; The street address of its principal office in this state, if any; The mailing address of the corporation, if different from the street address of its principal executive office or if the corporation has no principal office address in this state;
A valid electronic mail address for the corporation or for the corporation’s designee to receive those notices, only if the corporation chooses to receive renewal notices and any other notifications from the Secretary of State by electronic mail instead of by United States mail. A natural person that resides in California who is designated as the agent of the corporation for the purpose of service of process. 76

It covers the hiring process, reference checks, and maintaining personnel files. In particular, it addresses the various laws regarding a school’s duties and an employee’s rights with respect to personnel records and files.
