P RESCHOOL T EACHER – C HILD R ATIOS

Preschools must adhere to the following teacher to child ratios:

 Teacher: 12 children to one teacher. 19  Teacher and Teacher Aide: 15 children to one teacher with one teacher aide. 20  Teacher and Qualified Teacher Aide: 18 children to one fully- qualified teacher with one qualified teacher aide. 21  Napping Periods: 24 napping children to one teacher or 24 napping children to one qualified teacher aide (as long as other teachers are immediately available at the preschool.) 22  Activities Away From Preschool (Field Trips): No more than 12 children to one teacher, although it is recommended to have 6 children to one adult volunteer. 23  Toddler Component: 6 toddlers to one teacher 24 , 12 toddlers to two teachers, or 12 toddlers to one fully qualified teacher with one teacher aide. 25
